Questions? We got you. Check out our FAQ on the Electoral Justice League.

Why do we need it?

We must take a multifaceted approach to securing our freedom – a radical freedom for safe communities, economic security, freedom to earn a livelihood, freedom to live a healthy life, freedom from exploitation and violence, and a freedom to develop a true democracy. We believe that our power is too great, our voices too necessary, our lives too valuable to leave out even one tool in our struggle for freedom.

Who is it for?

The Electoral Justice League Fellowship is for ORGANIZATIONS that are committed to creating new political and institutional power that respects the dignity, morality and humanity of Black people. The Fellowship supports organizations that organize communities towards greater political power by leading an issue-based campaign, managing a campaign to elect a progressive candidate, or pushing for progressive policies to be passed.

What will we receive?

Each ORGANIZATION will receive:
1 funding to hire a fellow and grow your campaign;

2 training by leading Black political operatives in campaign strategy & data development, campaign management, fundraising and etc.; and

3 access to additional resources, legislative and policy development guidance and technical assistance.

How long is the Fellowship?

The 2021 Electoral Justice League Fellowship is 15 months long, running from August 2021 to December 2022.

Are there restrictions on how we can use Fellowship funds?

The Electoral Justice League Fellowship will resource organizations with $75,000. We ask that a portion of these funds be used to support a staff person (a fellow) that is or will lead your organization’s proposed campaign plan. The budgeting of salary, benefits and remaining funds is at the discretion of your organization.
